THE STORY Of WHAT COULD'VE BEEN

For a period during 1981-83 Yap Yap Research was ready to break out big in the music biz.

A half dozen gigs at the world famous CBGBs as well as many others around NYC and a demo studio recording had them primed and ready for the next step, but alas, it didn't come to pass.

Soon after recording three songs in the studio, the band dissolved. Que Sera Sera.

As written in Music Scene Magazine April 1982:

... They create musically the tension, desperation and importance you feel when you are in the middle of or the victim of political events

... They've learned , as groups like THE CLASH and Tom Robinson have learned that to make a political point, you have to convey what the powers you are opposing feels like from the wrong end, and they've also learned you've got to have the chops to get away with the politics

... imagine a collaboration between THE CLASH and David Byrne...
